The Shuttleberg is the perfect winter sports resort for active kids and their families. With us, you can discover a lot: child-friendly events, playful and action-packed special slopes, easy to ski, broad slopes, excellent ski and snowboard schools as well as family-friendly rest facilities.
19 of the total of 40 kilometres of slopes on the Shuttleberg are easy, blue slopes, but of course there are slopes with different levels of difficulty. Families with children who already know how to ski or snowboard, but do not speed down black slopes all the time, therefore feel really comfortable with us.
In addition, on the Shuttleberg you will ride exclusively on comfortable chairlifts with flat exits, which even small children and beginners can easily master. Our newest lift, the Lumberjack Shuttle, is specially designed for families with children: At the entrance, a conveyor belt with a lifting platform makes it easy for the little ones to get on and a self-locking safety bar guarantees safe mountain transport for all children.
All slopes on the Shuttleberg are groomed daily by our experienced staff and are guaranteed to have snow – modern snow-making equipment and three storage ponds ensure (at appropriate temperatures) sufficient snow from December to April.
In addition, you will find many varied special slopes, which are fun for you and your children.
The Family Run is ideal for kids and families, who want to discover the Shuttleberg in a playful way. This easy to ride route leads on blue slopes and extensive trails past 19 stations, where larger-than-life Crazy Dolls are waiting for you. Kids who have visited all stations receive a funny sticker book and stickers at our ticket offices.
The Family Run is 19 kilometres long and continues on both sides of the mountain.
Pick up your Family Run pass (punch hole card) at one of the ticket offices in Flachauwinkl or Kleinarl. All stations are listed on it. A pair of punching pliers is attached to each station so that you can punch your pass. Once you have visited all the stations, you can exchange your Family Run pass at the ticket office for your goodie.
The Family Run App makes it even easier to visit the Crazy Dolls at the side of the slope because it will mark the stations you have already passed automatically. With the app, you no longer need to take off your gloves to punch the Family Run pass.
You can download the app for free in the App Store or at Google Play. There is free WiFi on the whole Shuttleberg, so you can use the app without any restrictions.
There‘s a treasure hidden on the Shuttleberg. But the treasure chest is secured with a padlock that you cannot open by jolting or by shaking. Only those who know the correct code will be rewarded with a share of the treasure. Do you want to try your luck and crack the code? Then get your treasure map at one of the ticket offices in Flachau winkl or Kleinarl!
You can start your treasure hunt from any side of the mountain, just follow the numbered stations in ascending or descending order. Once you have solved all the puzzles, you will find a treasure chest in both valley stations. Enter the code correctly and take out your share of the treasure.
The Fun Run above the Sun House is a short, separate track, especially for kids and beginners. Besides many padded Crazy Dolls, an easy to ride wave track is waiting for you. The weekly Kids Day takes place each Tuesday at 1 p.m. on the Fun Run.
The Sun House is the ideal place for a family break. Here you can recover in the warmth, have a snack and hot tea, but also romp around, play together or watch funny cartoons. While our little guests are busy, the grown-ups can relax without worries.
The Sun House is located directly next to the middle station in Flachauwinkl between the Sunshine Shuttle and the Family Shuttle. With its huge sun-rays on the roof, you can't miss the yellow house.
These colourful animals are scattered throughout the ski resort and wait for your visit — especially on the Family Run, in the Sun House and on the Bubbles of the Family Shuttle and Bubble Shuttle.
The wild pack has grown over the years: It all started with Rusty Raby and Metal Mizy, but now there are 101 different Crazy Dolls on the Shuttleberg. Exotic animals from all over the world have joined the animals native to the broader Salzburg area. All of them feel at home with us and have made the ski resort their home.
At our ticket offices in Flachauwinkl and Kleinarl you can buy many different Crazy Dolls products:
When you have visited all stations of the Family Run, you will receive cool Crazy Dolls stickers and a little reward. All children who take part in the weekly Kids Day and the Crazy Dolls Party will also receive cool Crazy Dolls products as gifts.
We know that skiing or snowboarding is not a cheap hobby for families. For this reason, we offer various special discounts for families on the Shuttleberg.
With the Easter Family Special you can enjoy the sunny spring days on the mountain even more.
Kids and teenagers can buy their season tickets super-cheap in advance.
