Shuttleberg Flachauwinkl-Kleinarl
The top resort for active families and freestylers

Multi-variant descents with guaranteed snow, creative offers for sporty families and an internationally top-rated freestyle park — you will find all of that at Shuttleberg Flachauwinkl-Kleinarl. Even though the resort is not the largest in Ski amadé it is exceptionally successful at addressing different target groups.

Offers for active families

The Shuttleberg team is working on developing various attractive specials for families with children and young adults. Not without reason; most of the staff have got kids themselves and do winter sports together with their families. Shuttleberg offers a mix of creative events, playful and action-packed race courses and park lines, easy and broad slopes, excellent ski and snowboard schools as well as family-friendly places to take a rest.
When it comes to expanding the resort, the focus is on families too. The new Lumberjack Shuttle, a six-person chairlift, is especially well equipped for families and kids skiing lessons; at the entrance, a self-locking safety belt guarantees a hazard-free transport to the top.

A typic family day at Shuttleberg

While the youngest kids visit the Crazy Dolls at the blue-rated Family Run, young guns and speed junkies can go at full tilt on the timing piste and the speed slope. In the meantime, avid winter sports enthusiasts enjoy the red and black rated slopes free of crossings on the Kleinarl side of the mountain. Freeskiers and snowboarders take park laps at Absolut Park while freestyle newbies learn their first tricks at Absolut School. At noon, the whole family meets at one of the friendly mountain restaurants or at Sun House, where kids can watch funny movies at the cinema or ride the Fun Run, while the grown-ups relax in comfy sun chairs.

Absolut freestyle: Unique features for snowboarders and freeskiers

Absolut Park, one of the largest terrain parks worldwide, is over 1.5 kilometres long and offers perfectly shaped kickers as well as many rails and boxes for aspiring freeskiers and snowboarders. From the Jib Park, the Beginner, Medium and Pro Lines to specials like the Burton The Stash® Park or the new boarder and ski cross run, beginners and pros will discover various obstacles for all levels. The full park setup includes around 100 different features, which are redesigned or repositioned every season.

Various national and international snowboard and freeski contests prove the Absolut Park’s high quality. To receive feedback regularly, the Absolut Park sponsors one of the largest freestyle teams worldwide, including top international athletes, well-known Austrian riders and up-and-coming locals.

At the end of a perfect day, the freestyle scene gets together at Chill House to watch videos, boulder, or take a few runs on the skate mini ramp.

Shuttleberg: Local and international at the same time

When constructing the new chair-lift and the water reservoir (2016), Shuttleberg employed mostly local companies — to the economic and social benefits of the Pongau region. The ecologic sustainability of these projects was guaranteed through compensatory measures and the choice of locations interfering with the surrounding nature as minimal as possible.

The resort is also committed to hosting special events for local adolescents. Every year, Absolut Park hosts events for local newcomers, from snow-safety training (SAAC Camp) to snowboard and freeski contests (Jib King and ZSAEP Experience) and regular events for kids (Crazy Dolls Party, Clown Party, Easter Rabbit Party). For ski touring guests, who often come from the surrounding area, the resort offers well-marked tracks next to the slopes on both sides of the mountain.

But Shuttleberg is international as well: In winter, the team consists of more than 100 employees from more than 15 different countries. The various cultures and languages not only enrich and invigorate our mountain but also encourage tolerance, acceptance and appreciation. We live the equal treatment of all employees, no matter their gender or origin.

Top infrastructure and easy access

The Shuttleberg is easily accessible thanks to a direct motorway exit (Flachauwinkl) on the A6 Tauernautobahn. Also, ski buses are offering rides from the surrounding villages to Flachauwinkl and Kleinarl regularly.

For December 2018, a new cableway is planned, which will connect the winter sports resorts Wagrain-Flachau and Flachauwinkl-Kleinarl. The 3,1 km long ten-person gondola will reach the other side in twelve minutes.

News for the 2017/18 season at Shuttleberg Flachauwinkl-Kleinarl

Lumberjack Shuttle
In December 2017, the new Lumberjack Shuttle will go into operation, to date the longest and fastest chairlift at Shuttleberg. The detachable six-person chairlift on the Kleinarl side of the resort is located directly next to the Family Run. It replaces the T-bars Fürstwand and Schüttalm and is an excellent choice for beginners, families, and ski schools.

Family Run app
Kids love the Family Run. To facilitate “trudging“ all the Crazy Dolls, we linked the blue slope to an app. This way, you do not need to take off your gloves to die-cut your collector’s card but will check in at any checkpoint automatically.

Ten years Crazy Dolls
For the Crazy Dolls’ decadal birthday, four more funny animals join the group. Now, you will find 101 of the colourful mascots spread across the mountain — including a three-metre-high “Lazy Luis“.

Ten years Absolut School
Unbelievable, but it has already been ten years since Absolut School opened its doors! The school does not seem a day older and still focuses strongly on freestyle rookies.

Geographically accurate reality map
Shuttleberg presents a new reality map instead of a painted mountain panorama this winter. These innovative maps in the style of Google Earth are realistic and true to life, and all geographic information is mapped accurately.
